Sandra Roque is a senior consultant for Austral Consultoria e Projectos, a Mozambican company working on social and economic issues, and a member of the Angolan development NGO Acção para o Desenvolvimento Rural e Ambiente(ADRA).

Her research has covered issues related to participation, development of local organisations and the relationship between state and society, in particular in urban areas. She is currently working on a PhD in social anthropology at the University of Cape Town, which looks at the integration of war-displaced people in Benguela, Angola.
