' Sharing with the Tuxtlas peasants and learning about their day-to-day realities enhanced the meaning of my studies and reconnected me with the own problems of my country’.
Lina Maria Villa Cordoba , Citizenship DRC Intern for Mexico , June-July 2004
'The opportunity to work as an intern with the Theatre for Development Centre (TFDC) gave me more than I expected. It offered me the chance to see and experience how grass-roots organisations with a bottom-up and participatory approach actually work, since my previous experiences in the development field have been with Government Agencies. Coming from a Latin-American context, this experience was also an eye opener of the reality of sub-Saharan Africa and the kind of problems these countries share. I also had the opportunity of seeing and experiencing what I have learnt in the classroom, what I have read in books'
